Cutty Sark & Queen's Gallery
Wednesday 08 April 2020

The Queen’s House is one of the most interesting buildings in the country.  It is important architecturally and it is famous for its art collection.  It even has its own ghost if legend is to be believed.  Indigo Jones was commissioned in 1616 by James 1 to design the building but it was not completed until 1636.  Today it is famous for its extraordinary collection of art works by great masters such as Gainsborough, Reynolds, Turner and Hogarth.

Cutty Sark is a British Clipper Ship built on the river Leven, Dumbarton, Scotland for the Jock Willis Shipping Line.  She was one of the last ten clippers to be built and the fastest, coming at the end of a long period of design development which halted as sailing ships gave way to steam propulsion.
