One of the main objectives of The Arts Society is to foster a lasting love of the arts in young people and to encourage their involvement in creative activities.

The Arts Society  Gerrards Cross

In 2017/2018 we have supported YOUNG ARTS which encourages and develops children in many different facets of Art, Music, Dance and for some it is a therapy.

1/  In July we supported Iain Ledingham and his young opera students from the Royal Academy at St James Church, Gerrards Cross in a joint summer concert with South Bucks Choral Society.   The aim was to raise funds for the Royal Academy students’ annual trip to Italy -  very much a part of our Golden Jubilee celebrations.

2/  The Arts Room at Northolt High School has now expanded to include more children.  We continue to support the Art Room with funds and by collecting buttons, ribbons, coins, stamps and junk jewellery.

Ali Meskin from the High School won a commendation for his painting of a sunrise in the Chiltern hills “ My golden moments” competition at Aylesbury museum.   Art work from “Young Carers” and Chalfont St Giles Brownies was also on display.

3/  “Young Carers”, High Wycombe – artist Terry Belisky organised a fun day for 20 children making hats for a “ Mad hatters tea party” followed by tea and an opportunity to make new friends.

4/  The Chiltern Music Academy – we support children on Saturdays at the High School, High Wycombe to “find their forte” with a musical instrument and to develop their love of music.

5/  Summer Reading Challenge at Gerrards Cross library.  During the summer holidays we helped with children’s activity days at the GX library with their take on celebrating 80 years of the comic “Beano” while at the same time encouraging them to collect reading tokens.
